Job Brief

We are seeking a skilled Boiler Tester to construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and associated boiler house auxiliaries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aligning structures, following blueprints, and utilizing a variety of hand and power tools. Key responsibilities include testing assembled vessels, directing boiler cleaning, and inspecting boiler fittings. Candidates should possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and assemble stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries according to industry standards.
  • Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, following detailed blueprints.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs, and turnbuckles effectively in boiler assembly.
  • Assist in testing assembled vessels to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Direct and oversee the cleaning of boilers and boiler furnaces to maintain optimal performance.
  • Inspect and repair boiler fittings, including safety valves, regulators, and automatic-control mechanisms.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of auxiliary machines associated with boiler systems.
  • Document maintenance activities and comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Boiler Tester or in a similar role within the boiler and pressure vessel manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of boiler construction, assembly, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with applicable safety standards and regulations related to boiler operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to boiler assembly and maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications related to boiler operations, maintenance, or safety preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
