Job Brief
As a Bicycle Messenger, you will be responsible for efficiently picking up and delivering messages, documents, packages, and other items within an establishment or directly to other businesses. This role requires exceptional time management skills and knowledge of local routes, as you will primarily travel by bicycle but may also use other modes of transportation when necessary. Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver messages, documents, and packages in a timely manner.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain a high level of communication with clients and office staff.
- Ensure the safe handling of items during transit.
- Complete documentation and record deliveries accurately.
- Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations while operating a bicycle.
- Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries effectively.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on the bicycle to ensure roadworthiness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or transportation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a bicycle messenger or in a similar courier role.
- Strong knowledge of local streets, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple deliveries while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform minor repairs and maintenance on bicycles.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on transportation methods used.
