Job Brief
As an Auto Damage Appraiser, you will be responsible for assessing automobile and vehicle damage to determine repair costs for insurance claim settlements. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to evaluate the extent of damage.
- Prepare detailed reports that outline repair costs, including parts and labor.
- Utilize industry-standard software to create accurate cost estimates for insurance claims.
- Collaborate with automotive repair shops to negotiate repair costs and finalize agreements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, repair techniques, and pricing structures.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and company policies while processing claims.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurance agents, and repair facilities to resolve inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of appraisals, estimates, and communications for future reference.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., I-CAR, ASE) preferred.
- Proven experience as an Auto Damage Appraiser or in a related role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair processes and costs associated with various types of damage.
- Proficiency in utilizing appraisal software and tools for cost estimation.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with clients and repair facilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims simultaneously.
