This program is one of the WORST ones I’ve ever been recommended. When I first joined I was in cpp which is career preparation, my class was one of the first to finish as fast as we did and I was there walking around for a MONTH not in any classes regarding my trade and the diploma program. I’ve consistently had to advocate for myself about situations that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I have no idea why the administrators feel the need to be in cahoots with certain students but the fact that they will make it seem like the person coming and explaining and asking for help for their success is the issue is ridiculous. Ms.marks, Ms.Siryon, Ms.busby and the counselors are the only ones who really try their hardest to help. Everyone else as much as they say they care, do not really care for students wellbeing and are only worried about keeping people there so the building don’t get shut down. They false advertise about trades and when you get there you aren’t able to join the one you want and 9/10 you won’t have teachers. They can’t keep teachers because staff bully other staff and pull students in the middle of it. They protects problematic students and are perfectly okay with that because they’d rather lose one new student than 5-6 students for reputation purposes. They don’t follow their own policies but preach about professionalism and following guidelines so much to the people who actually have decorum meanwhile the grown adults well past their 30s acted more immature than 17 year olds who were there. When department of labor comes they refuse to let students even be near them and they surround them to the point you’d think they’re the president of the United States. They act surprised when students tell them they’re going to leave but in all reality they know the issues and refuse to fix them because they live for the drama that’s created by each other. I hope and pray this building gets shut down for a while so they can find better staff that hold each other accountable as well as the students who really need to be held accountable. They will lie and disregard any actual truth about this but trust I have people who have had the same experience and it’s more than half the building. Bless up❤️

Absolutely fantastic program for young people that are in need of a chance and lack the education or skill level to be viable in the workforce! Previous reviews elude to dysfunction and the feeling of run-around but as a current administrator, the frustration is that we are in the microwave generation meaning students want everything now, this moment vs putting in the time and effort necessary to development to become great productive skillsmen/women. The program has had thousands of successful students and the positives of that far outweigh any negative. Staff are caring and concerned for student success but getting them to see that at times can be challenging. I would recommend my sons or my daughter to the program.

Not only did I work at Wilmington Job Corps my son was a student. He successfully completed the High School and Trade program. I enjoyed working there. I gained valuable experience that I will continue to carry with me throughout my career.
