As other’s have mentioned, calling them the “used car salesmen” of staffing would be quite fitting.
I have worked for other staffing agencies in the past who were far more professional and forthright about the positions they were trying to fill.
The person I spoke to gave the typical “our client needs to hire right NOW” bit and made all of his requests seems as though the job was up for auction. Even the companies who I was contracted to in the past have admitted that they were not in a rush to hire someone. Like used car salesmen, this is simply a tactic to pressure you into making an ill informed decision and enable them to move on to “sell” another opening to the next company/job seeker.
Also, if anyone asks for your resume before giving you any details regarding the position and WHO the company is, do not provide it to them. This is simply a means of data mining resumes for future opens.
