Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Window Glazier to join our team, responsible for the installation and repair of glass in various structures, including windows, skylights, store fronts, and display cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in glass cutting, measuring, and fitting, along with a strong understanding of safety protocols and building codes. Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment is essential, and attention to detail is crucial to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and repair glass in windows, skylights, and storefronts.
- Measure, cut, and shape glass to precise specifications using appropriate tools.
- Ensure all installations comply with building codes and safety regulations.
- Work with various types of glass, including tempered, laminated, and insulated glass.
- Assist in the design and layout of glass installations for aesthetic appeal and functionality.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and clients to determine glass requirements.
- Perform maintenance and repair on existing glass structures to extend their lifespan.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in glazing or relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Window Glazier or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of glass installation techniques and safety measures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and glass-cutting equipment proficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
