Job Brief
As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and safety. You will perform routine maintenance on wind turbine equipment while resolving electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, relevant certifications, and experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically in wind energy technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of wind turbines to identify wear, damage, and potential malfunctions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system issues in wind energy systems.
- Perform repairs and adjustments on turbine components to maintain efficiency and reliability.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to assess turbine performance and operational data.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to implement improvements and upgrades.
- Document maintenance activities and report findings to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in wind energy technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar role within the renewable energy industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems related to wind turbines.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in wind energy operations.
- Ability to work at heights and in challenging environmental conditions.
- Familiarity with diagnostic and troubleshooting tools specific to wind turbine equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
