Job Brief
As a Wind Turbine Erector, you will play a pivotal role in the renewable energy sector, responsible for the assembly and installation of wind turbine structures. This position requires hands-on experience in erecting heavy steel components and a strong understanding of safety protocols and industry standards. You will collaborate with a skilled team to ensure the successful completion of wind farm projects, contributing to sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to construct wind turbine frameworks.
- Assemble and erect metal storage tanks and prefabricated metal buildings as required for project specifications.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with all safety regulations during the erection process.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to interpret blueprints and project plans accurately.
- Utilize cranes and other heavy equipment to lift and position structural components effectively.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members on best practices and safety procedures.
- Document daily progress and report any issues or challenges to site supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in construction or engineering preferred.
- Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Erector or in a similar role within the construction or renewable energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of structural components and construction methods, particularly in wind energy applications.
- Ability to operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely and effectively; relevant certifications preferred.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction and erecting operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and components related to wind turbines is a plus.
