Job Brief
As a Wildlife Veterinarian, you will diagnose, treat, and research diseases and injuries affecting wildlife and exotic animals. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat injuries, diseases, and health issues in wildlife and exotic animals.
- Conduct health assessments and develop treatment plans for various species.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, ensuring the highest standards of animal care.
- Collaborate with conservation organizations and wildlife rehabilitation centers.
- Research and document cases to contribute to wildlife health studies and data collection.
- Educate the public and stakeholders about wildlife health and conservation practices.
- Inspect livestock and assess their health in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary regulations.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- State veterinary license and relevant certifications in wildlife medicine.
- Proven experience in veterinary practice, particularly with wildlife or exotic animals.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary pharmacology.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments and under varying conditions.
- Commitment to animal welfare and conservation ethics.
- Proficient in using veterinary medical equipment and technology.
