Job Brief
As a Veterinary Surgery Technologist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical support in veterinary settings. This position involves performing laboratory tests and assisting in surgical procedures to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases. Responsibilities
- Conduct medical tests in a laboratory environment to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases.
- Prepare vaccines and serums for disease prevention in various animal species.
- Collect and process tissue and blood samples, executing tests such as urinalysis and blood counts.
- Maintain a sterile and organized laboratory by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and materials.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and machines to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and supplies are available.
- Document laboratory results and maintain accurate records of tests and procedures performed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in veterinary technology and surgical techniques.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in Veterinary Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) is preferred.
- Proven experience in a veterinary laboratory or surgical environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and surgical protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on animal welfare.
- Ability to work in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and technology.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and anesthesia is a plus.
