Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations and diagnostic tests to assess cardiovascular health in animals.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for animals diagnosed with heart conditions.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including echocardiography and electrocardiography, for accurate assessments.
- Collaborate with pet owners and veterinary staff to provide education on heart health and disease prevention.
- Perform surgical procedures as necessary, including cardiac surgeries and interventions.
- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in veterinary cardiology.
- Mentor and train veterinary interns and staff in cardiology best practices.
- Participate in clinical research projects to advance knowledge in veterinary cardiology.
Requirements
- DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in veterinary cardiology.
- Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging techniques and cardiology protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and staff.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development in veterinary medicine.
- Experience with clinical research and publication in veterinary cardiology is a plus.
