Job Brief
As a Vehicle Damage Appraiser, you will evaluate automobile and other vehicle damages to determine repair costs essential for insurance claim settlements. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess damage and determine repair costs.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for insurance claims, including cost estimates and repair recommendations.
- Collaborate with automotive repair shops to negotiate and finalize repair costs.
- Utilize industry-standard appraisal software to record assessments and generate reports.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive repair techniques and insurance regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurance agents, and repair facilities to facilitate claim processes.
- Provide expert advice on vehicle repair options and costs to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Appraiser or in a similar role within the automotive or insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and repair processes.
- Familiarity with appraisal software and tools used in vehicle damage assessment.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills to resolve disputes regarding repair costs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Relevant certifications, such as Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or equivalent, are preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and professionals.
