Job Brief
The Hydrotreater Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hydroprocessing units within a petroleum refinery. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor hydroprocessing units to optimize production and quality.
- Control manifold and pumping systems to regulate the flow of oil and other petroleum products.
- Perform routine testing and gauging of oil in storage tanks to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Adjust process parameters based on real-time data to maintain safe operating conditions.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify and address potential issues.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and upgrades of processing units.
- Document operational data and prepare reports for management review.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations to minimize operational risks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in petroleum technology or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Hydrotreater Operator or in a similar role within the petroleum refining industry.
- Strong understanding of hydroprocessing technologies and petroleum refining processes.
- Familiarity with manifold and pumping systems, as well as oil storage tank operations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve operational issues effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions based on data analysis.
- Valid safety certifications related to refinery operations (e.g., HAZWOPER, OSHA).
- Effective communication skills and teamwork capabilities.
