Job Brief
As a Histotechnician, you will play a crucial role in the medical laboratory by preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination. Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for histopathological examination.
- Perform embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Adhere to safety and quality control protocols to ensure accurate results.
- Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory procedures.
- Document and report findings accurately in compliance with laboratory standards.
- Collaborate with pathologists and medical technologists to support patient diagnosis.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with industry advancements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) by a recognized professional organization.
- Proficient in histological techniques and laboratory safety practices.
- Experience with laboratory equipment, including microtomes and staining machines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes in laboratory settings.
