Job Brief

As a Histotechnician, you will play a crucial role in the medical laboratory by preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process tissue specimens for histopathological examination.
  • Perform embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Adhere to safety and quality control protocols to ensure accurate results.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory procedures.
  • Document and report findings accurately in compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and medical technologists to support patient diagnosis.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with industry advancements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) by a recognized professional organization.
  • Proficient in histological techniques and laboratory safety practices.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, including microtomes and staining machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes in laboratory settings.
