Job Brief
The Highway Painter is responsible for painting and maintaining road surfaces, structures, and equipment to ensure safety and visibility for drivers. Responsibilities
- Apply paint to highways, bridges, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, and removing old paint as necessary.
- Mix paints and oils to achieve the desired color and consistency.
- Inspect and assess the condition of surfaces to determine necessary repairs or treatment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document work performed and report any issues or damages encountered during projects.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in painting or construction is a plus.
- Proven experience as a painter, particularly in highway or road surface painting.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and safety standards.
- Ability to operate painting equipment, including spray guns and pressure washers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
