Job Brief

The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing exceptional technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving computer-related issues through various channels including in-person, telephone, and electronic communications. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware and software, along with excellent problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will possess experience in troubleshooting operating systems, email systems, and printing solutions, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to users via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network issues efficiently.
  • Assist users with installation and configuration of hardware and software applications.
  • Document support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Educate users on best practices for utilizing computer systems and software tools.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets and assist with equipment setup and maintenance.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and developments to provide informed support.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technologies.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Experience with troubleshooting software applications, electronic mail, and printing issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+ or ITIL, are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
