Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Hard Tile Setter with extensive experience in applying hard tile, stone, and similar materials to a variety of surfaces including walls, floors, ceilings, countertops, and roof decks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, and a solid understanding of tiling techniques. This role requires proficiency in interpreting blueprints and specifications to deliver high-quality installations that meet industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Measure and cut tiles to fit specified dimensions and patterns.
- Prepare surfaces by removing old materials, leveling, and cleaning to ensure proper adhesion.
- Apply adhesive and set tiles according to design specifications, ensuring precise alignment and spacing.
- Grout and finish tile installations, ensuring seamless and aesthetically pleasing results.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing tile work to restore functionality and appearance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradesmen to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while on job sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Hard Tile Setter or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of various tile materials, installation techniques, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certification in tile installation or related field is a plus.
