Job Brief
The Greenskeeper is responsible for maintaining the landscape and grounds of a golf course or similar property using both hand and power tools. This role requires hands-on experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance, with a focus on tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and fertilizing. Ideal candidates will possess strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of turf management and horticultural practices.
Responsibilities
- Mow and trim turf areas to maintain defined height and appearance.
- Lay sod and plant flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance property aesthetics.
- Water and fertilize plants and lawns to promote healthy growth.
- Dig, rake, and prepare soil for planting and landscaping projects.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems, including sprinklers and hoses.
- Perform regular maintenance on landscape equipment and tools.
- Monitor the health of plants and lawns, identifying and addressing pest and disease issues.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement landscape maintenance plans.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in landscaping or horticulture are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Greenskeeper or in a similar landscaping role.
- Strong knowledge of turf management, plant care, and pesticide application.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment, such as mowers and trimmers.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
