Job Brief
As a Glass Blower, you will be responsible for the artistic creation and manipulation of glass products, including figurines, pipes, tiles, and specialty items. Responsibilities
- Mold, shape, and form glass products using traditional and contemporary glassblowing techniques.
- Collaborate with designers to create custom glass pieces that meet client specifications.
- Monitor and control furnace temperatures, ensuring optimal conditions for glass manipulation.
- Utilize tools and equipment safely and effectively to produce intricate glass designs.
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and industry regulations.
- Experiment with different glass compositions and techniques to innovate new product lines.
- Participate in workshops and exhibitions to showcase glasswork and engage with the artistic community.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Glass Blower or in a similar role within the glass art industry.
- Strong understanding of glass properties and techniques, including blowing, molding, and casting.
- Ability to operate glassblowing equipment and tools, including furnaces, torches, and molds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for detailed glasswork.
- Creativity and artistic vision to develop unique designs and concepts.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in glassworking environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional specialized training or certifications in glass blowing is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
