Job Brief
As a Gas Plant Dispatcher, you will be responsible for the efficient distribution and processing of gas for utility companies and other stakeholders. Your primary duties will involve controlling compressors to maintain specified pressures on main pipelines, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing the flow of gas to meet demand. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in gas operations or related fields.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control gas flow and pressure levels in pipelines to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinate with field operators to maintain optimal pipeline performance and address any operational issues promptly.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilize SCADA systems and other monitoring tools to track gas distribution and identify anomalies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of gas dispatch operations, including logs and reports.
- Communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders regarding gas supply and demand changes.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry practices and technologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in gas operations or pipeline management preferred.
- Proven experience as a dispatcher in the gas industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of gas distribution systems, pipeline safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in SCADA systems and other gas monitoring software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in shifts and on-call hours as required by operational demands.
