Job Brief
As a Gas Derrick Operator, you will be responsible for rigging derrick equipment and operating pumps to circulate mud or fluid through the drill hole. This role requires a strong understanding of drilling operations and safety protocols, along with hands-on experience in oil and gas production environments. Responsibilities
- Operate derrick equipment to facilitate drilling operations efficiently and safely.
- Monitor and control the circulation of drilling mud or fluid through the drill hole.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of derrick machinery and equipment.
- Collaborate with drilling crews to ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Assist in the setup and dismantling of drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling parameters and equipment performance.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions or emergencies during drilling operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as a Derrick Operator or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of drilling processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, First Aid, or equivalent).
