Job Brief

As a Game Warden, you will be responsible for protecting wildlife and ensuring compliance with fish and game laws within a designated area. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental management, law enforcement, and conservation practices. Ideal candidates will possess excellent observational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to preserving natural resources. Previous experience in wildlife management or law enforcement is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent fish and game law violations and enforce regulations.
  • Conduct investigations into reports of wildlife-related damage to crops or property.
  • Compile and analyze biological data to support conservation efforts.
  • Educate the public on wildlife laws, conservation practices, and safety measures.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies on wildlife management initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of incidents, violations, and enforcement actions.
  • Participate in wildlife surveys and population assessments to inform management strategies.
  • Respond to emergencies involving wildlife and assist in rescue operations when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Experience in law enforcement or a background in conservation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal wildlife regulations and conservation practices.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for public education and collaboration.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate various types of vehicles in diverse terrain.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus.
