Job Brief
As a Fur Tailor, you will be responsible for designing, creating, altering, and repairing garments made from fur and other textiles. You will utilize your expertise in tailoring and craftsmanship to ensure high-quality finished products that meet client specifications. Responsibilities
- Design and construct custom fur garments and accessories according to client specifications.
- Alter, repair, and fit existing fur clothing to ensure optimal comfort and appearance.
- Consult with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice on styles and materials.
- Use various sewing techniques and equipment to create high-quality fur products.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency in the tailoring process.
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in fur fashion and incorporate innovative designs into your work.
- Manage inventory of materials and tools required for garment production and repair.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fur Tailor or in a similar role within the fashion industry.
- Strong knowledge of various sewing techniques and garment construction methods.
- Excellent craftsmanship with a focus on detail and quality assurance.
- Ability to work with a variety of fabrics, particularly fur and leather.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification in tailoring or fashion design is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using sewing machines and other tailoring tools.
