Job Brief
As a Fuel Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of at least 26,001 pounds, delivering fuel to various locations safely and efficiently. This role requires a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and a strong understanding of safety regulations and vehicle maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely fuel delivery.
Responsibilities
- Operate fuel delivery trucks in compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
- Load and unload fuel safely, following proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and fuel inventory records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations during fuel transportation.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or maintenance needs to management promptly.
- Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials as required.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving heavy trucks, preferably in fuel transportation.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to fuel delivery.
- Strong physical stamina to handle loading and unloading fuel.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Hazmat endorsement may be required, depending on the state regulations.
