The Flight Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, baggage, and cargo in compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations. Responsibilities
- Conduct security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo to ensure compliance with TSA regulations.
- Operate and monitor security equipment, including x-ray machines and hand wands, during screening processes.
- Identify potential security threats and escalate concerns to appropriate authorities.
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and report any incidents or anomalies.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict adherence to security protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on security best practices.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies to support airport security initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in security or law enforcement is a plus.
- Proven experience in aviation security or a related field.
- Knowledge of TSA regulations and security screening procedures.
- Ability to operate security screening equipment effectively and safely.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and respond to emergencies effectively.
- Background check and completion of security training certification may be required.
