Job Brief
As a Fish Fryer, you will be responsible for operating and tending cooking equipment, such as deep fry cookers and steam cooking vats, to prepare a variety of fish and seafood products. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain deep fry cookers and other cooking equipment to prepare fish and seafood dishes.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality and safety.
- Follow recipes and portion control standards to produce consistent food items.
- Prepare ingredients, including cleaning and cutting fish, marinating, and battering.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking food supplies and reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
- Previous experience as a fryer operator or in a similar cooking role.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to operate deep fryers, steam cooking vats, and other kitchen equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
