Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and associated wiring. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fire alarm codes and standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively. A background in the security and fire alarm industry is essential, along with relevant certifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure fire alarm systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Program fire alarm control panels and integrate them with other security systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Diagnose and repair faults in fire alarm equipment and wiring, minimizing downtime.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and national fire alarm codes and regulations.
- Document all service work, including installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on fire alarm system operation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to fire alarm systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in fire alarm systems preferred.
- Valid certification as a Fire Alarm Technician (e.g., NICET Level I or higher).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in installing and servicing fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards, including NFPA regulations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
