Job Brief
As an Escalator Mechanic, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of escalators and related equipment. This role requires a solid understanding of electric and hydraulic systems, along with experience in troubleshooting and ensuring the safe operation of passenger and freight escalators. Responsibilities
- Assemble and install escalators according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on escalators to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in escalator systems.
- Replace worn or damaged components to ensure safety and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to complete installation projects on time.
- Maintain detailed records of service performed and parts used for each escalator maintenance task.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and practices to minimize risks during repair and maintenance activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with clients regarding escalator performance and service needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in elevator/escalator maintenance preferred.
- Proven experience as an escalator mechanic or in a similar role within the vertical transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of escalator systems, electrical circuits, and hydraulic components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to escalator installation and maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
