Job Brief
As an Escalator Installer, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of electric or hydraulic escalators, passenger elevators, and dumbwaiters. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and safety protocols. Ideal candidates should have relevant experience in elevator and escalator installation or maintenance, along with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install escalators, elevators, and dumbwaiters according to specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect and troubleshoot escalator systems to identify issues and implement appropriate repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of escalators, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure project timelines and safety regulations are met.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and service reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during installation and maintenance tasks.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in escalator and elevator installation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in elevator/escalator installation preferred.
- Proven experience as an escalator installer or in a similar mechanical trade.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electric systems related to escalators and elevators.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations associated with elevator and escalator work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., elevator technician certification) are a plus.
