Job Brief
As an Elevator Mechanic, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of electric and hydraulic freight or passenger elevators, escalators, and dumbwaiters. This role requires a skilled technician with extensive experience in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring safety standards, and providing exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, and dumbwaiters in compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and perform troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve elevator malfunctions to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with contractors and other trades to coordinate installation and repair projects.
- Maintain accurate records of service and repair work performed on equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, safety codes, and best practices in elevator and escalator technology.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in elevator mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as an Elevator Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electric lift systems.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes related to elevator installation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Valid elevator mechanic license or relevant certification (as required by state or local regulations).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
