Job Brief
The Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses related to cardiac electrophysiology. This advanced practice provider collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote health, prevent disease, and manage patient care. The ideal candidate will possess specialized graduate education and expertise in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests, as well as prescribing medications to optimize patient outcomes in the electrophysiology setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with electrophysiological disorders.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, focusing on cardiac health and related issues.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.
- Prescribe medications and manage pharmacological therapies in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, health promotion, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on Nurse Practitioner training.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in electrophysiology.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a recognized certifying body.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology, and related pathophysiology.
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and managing complex medication regimens.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in cardiology or electrophysiology.
