Job Brief

The Electronic Instrument Testing Technician plays a critical role in the evaluation and enhancement of electrical components, circuitry, controls, and machinery. Under the guidance of engineering staff, this position applies electrical and electronic theory to design, build, repair, adjust, and modify various electronic instruments. Candidates should possess a solid foundation in electronics and related technologies, with a focus on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to support engineering design decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, assemble, and modify electronic components and systems for testing purposes.
  • Conduct routine tests on electronic instruments to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in electrical circuits and electronic equipment.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate records of modifications and repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate feedback and improve design processes.
  • Utilize various testing equipment and tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, for accurate assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards during all testing and modification activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members on electronic testing procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electronic testing, assembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory, circuitry, and electronic components.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment and software relevant to electronic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in electronic testing and repair.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Certifications in electronics or related fields are a plus.
