Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated EKG Technician to join our healthcare team. The EKG Technician will be responsible for conducting electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other cardiovascular tests to support diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Experience in pulmonary function testing and knowledge of cardiac monitoring equipment are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and interpret results accurately.
- Assist in performing cardiac catheterizations and pulmonary function tests.
- Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Maintain and calibrate EKG and monitoring equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document test results and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor patients during tests and respond to any immediate medical needs.
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiovascular technology and best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in EKG technology preferred.
- Proven experience as an EKG Technician or similar role in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, EKG interpretation, and related procedures.
- Proficiency in operating EKG machines and other diagnostic equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
