Job Brief

The Drywall Stripper is responsible for the installation and application of plasterboard and other wallboard materials to ceilings and interior walls of buildings. This role requires expertise in mounting acoustical tiles and materials designed to enhance sound reduction and reflection. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of lathing techniques and wall support systems. Responsibilities

  • Install plasterboard and wallboard materials on ceilings and interior walls to meet design specifications.
  • Apply acoustical tiles and shock-absorbing materials to enhance soundproofing in residential and commercial properties.
  • Utilize lathing techniques to fasten wooden, metal, or rockboard lath securely to walls and ceilings.
  • Ensure proper alignment and finishing of all wall surfaces to maintain aesthetic quality and structural integrity.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute drywall installation projects efficiently.
  • Conduct inspections of installed materials to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to drywall installation and soundproofing techniques.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Drywall Stripper or similar role in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of plasterboard, wallboard, and acoustical materials.
  • Strong understanding of lathing techniques and soundproofing methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards in construction.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications in drywall installation or construction safety are a plus.
