Job Brief

As a Dredge Engineer, you will be responsible for operating dredge machinery to excavate and maintain navigable channels in waterways by removing sand, gravel, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems, alongside a commitment to safety standards and environmental regulations. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience with dredging operations, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate dredging equipment to efficiently remove sediment and maintain waterway channels.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment performance to ensure optimal dredging operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on dredge machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during dredging activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and marine teams to coordinate dredging schedules.
  • Perform site assessments to identify dredging needs and develop operational strategies.
  • Document and report on dredging progress, equipment performance, and safety incidents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in dredging or marine engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dredging equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices in dredging operations.
