Job Brief
As a Dredge Engineer, you will be responsible for operating dredge machinery to excavate and maintain navigable channels in waterways by removing sand, gravel, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems, alongside a commitment to safety standards and environmental regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate dredging equipment to efficiently remove sediment and maintain waterway channels.
- Monitor and adjust equipment performance to ensure optimal dredging operations.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on dredge machinery to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during dredging activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and marine teams to coordinate dredging schedules.
- Perform site assessments to identify dredging needs and develop operational strategies.
- Document and report on dredging progress, equipment performance, and safety incidents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in dredging or marine engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dredging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices in dredging operations.
