Job Brief
The Dragline Oiler plays a critical role in the efficient operation of surface mining machinery, specifically by maintaining and lubricating dragline equipment equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets. This position requires hands-on experience with heavy machinery, excellent mechanical skills, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. The Dragline Oiler ensures optimal performance and longevity of the equipment through regular maintenance, inspection, and operational support, contributing to productive material excavation and loading processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain dragline machinery to excavate and load loose materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Apply lubricants and greases to various components of the dragline machinery as per maintenance schedules.
- Monitor performance indicators and report any irregularities or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of dragline equipment at surface mining sites.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations to promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with operators and maintenance staff to improve equipment functionality and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining dragline or similar heavy machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Knowledge of lubrication systems and maintenance practices for heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety standards and practices in a mining environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license; additional certifications related to heavy machinery operation may be preferred.
