Job Brief

As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and managing patients with breathing disorders. Your expertise will involve operating various respiratory care modalities while supervising respiratory therapy technicians. This position requires a strong understanding of therapeutic procedures, patient care protocols, and the ability to maintain accurate patient records. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in respiratory therapy and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ respiratory conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and monitor patient progress.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Supervise and mentor respiratory therapy technicians in delivering quality patient care.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care strategies.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in respiratory therapy.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from an accredited body.
  • Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a clinical environment, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in operating respiratory equipment such as ventilators and nebulizers.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care protocols and patient assessment techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
