Job Brief
The Crane Rigger is responsible for setting up and repairing rigging in various environments, including construction sites, manufacturing plants, logging yards, and shipyards. Responsibilities
- Set up and dismantle rigging equipment for cranes and hoisting operations.
- Inspect rigging gear, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with crane operators to plan and execute lifting operations safely.
- Repair and maintain rigging systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Evaluate load weights and determine appropriate rigging methods.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of rigging procedures and inspections.
- Provide training and guidance to junior riggers and site personnel.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and conduct risk assessments before lifting operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Crane Rigger or similar role in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and rigging diagrams.
- Certification in rigging and lifting operations (e.g., NCCCO, OSHA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Willingness to comply with safety regulations and best practices.
