Job Brief

The Counter Installer is responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing various structures and fixtures made of wood and similar materials. This role requires hands-on experience in building frameworks, including partitions, joists, and rafters, as well as proficiency in installing cabinets, siding, drywall, and insulation. Ideal candidates possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. A background in carpentry or a related field is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and install structures such as wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors.
  • Build frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters, ensuring structural integrity.
  • Install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation in residential and commercial settings.
  • Repair and maintain existing structures and fixtures, addressing any issues with craftsmanship or materials.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate installations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently and safely.
  • Adhere to local building codes and safety regulations while performing installations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding project timelines and expectations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Counter Installer or in a similar carpentry role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and installation work.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Certification in carpentry or completion of an apprenticeship program is preferred.
