Job Brief
The Corral Boss is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the activities of agricultural, forestry, aquacultural, and related workers. This leadership role requires a strong background in livestock management, team coordination, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of animal husbandry, and the ability to manage daily operations effectively. Experience in agricultural or ranching environments is essential, along with a commitment to safety and sustainability practices.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of corral operations, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain optimal animal care and welfare standards.
- Implement and oversee safety protocols to protect staff and livestock.
- Monitor and assess the health of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring availability of feed and necessary equipment.
- Train and mentor new employees on best practices in livestock management.
- Develop and maintain schedules for feeding, watering, and herding activities.
- Collaborate with management to improve operational procedures and enhance productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience in agricultural management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of livestock care and husbandry practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Certification in animal husbandry or relevant field is a plus.
