Job Brief
As a Convention Planner, you will play a crucial role in orchestrating events, conferences, and meetings. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating logistics, managing vendor relationships, and collaborating with clients to ensure seamless execution of all aspects of each event. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all logistical aspects of conventions, including venue selection, catering, and transportation.
- Develop event agendas and schedules in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and venue staff.
- Conduct site visits to assess event locations and ensure all requirements are met.
- Implement marketing strategies to promote events and increase attendance.
- Manage on-site operations during events, including setup, coordination, and breakdown.
- Collect feedback and evaluate event success to improve future conventions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in convention planning or event management.
- Proficient in event management software and tools.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor contracts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices in event planning.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
