Job Brief
The Control Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with national and local electrical codes. This role requires a proficient understanding of electrical control systems, street lights, and intercom systems. Ideal candidates should possess hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues, alongside strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and fixtures to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical control systems and components for operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure that all work performed is in compliance with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other trades and contractors to coordinate electrical installations.
- Document all maintenance and repair work, including updates to electrical schematics.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely resolution to electrical issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Valid electrician’s license or certification, as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience as a Control Electrician or equivalent role in the electrical industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
