Job Brief

The Control Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with national and local electrical codes. This role requires a proficient understanding of electrical control systems, street lights, and intercom systems. Ideal candidates should possess hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues, alongside strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and fixtures to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical control systems and components for operational efficiency.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure that all work performed is in compliance with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other trades and contractors to coordinate electrical installations.
  • Document all maintenance and repair work, including updates to electrical schematics.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely resolution to electrical issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Valid electrician’s license or certification, as required by local regulations.
  • Proven experience as a Control Electrician or equivalent role in the electrical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
