Job Brief
As a Construction Ironworker, you will play a critical role in the construction industry by raising, placing, and uniting iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural components. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the specifications of structural frameworks.
- Raise, place, and secure iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members.
- Assemble prefabricated metal buildings and erect metal storage tanks.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met.
- Utilize hand and power tools effectively and safely to complete tasks.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and compliance with industry standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety on the job site.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any defects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a related construction role.
- Strong knowledge of metal frameworks, construction techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks at heights.
- Certifications in safety training and equipment operation (e.g., OSHA, NCCER) preferred.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and follow strict safety guidelines.
