Job Brief

As a Concrete Mason, you will play a critical role in constructing and finishing various concrete surfaces, including floors, sidewalks, roads, and curbs. This position requires a strong understanding of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques, as well as proficiency in using hand and power tools. Ideal candidates will possess significant experience in masonry work, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up forms for concrete pours, including sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete to ensure high-quality results.
  • Align forms and patch voids as needed to maintain structural integrity.
  • Utilize saws to cut expansion joints and ensure proper concrete movement.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to execute concrete projects accurately.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and practices while performing all tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Concrete Mason or in a similar masonry role.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete properties, mixing ratios, and curing processes.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required for site travel.
