Job Brief
The Computer Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced computer and information networks, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and intranets. This role requires expertise in network modeling, analysis, and capacity planning, as well as the ability to develop security measures to protect data communications. Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust computer and information networks, including LAN, WAN, and extranet solutions.
- Conduct network modeling, analysis, and planning to assess capacity needs for network infrastructures.
- Develop and implement network security measures to safeguard data communications.
- Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software solutions.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network design with organizational goals.
- Document network configurations, processes, and changes for reference and compliance.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance network efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Computer Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and technologies (firewalls, routers, switches).
- Experience with network security measures and tools.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
