Job Brief
The Command Post Superintendent oversees and directs the tactical operations team, ensuring effective coordination and execution of all operational activities. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of tactical operations specialists to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for command post functions and tactical operations.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing guidance and training as needed to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to align tactical operations with organizational goals and objectives.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting performance metrics and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols to mitigate risks during tactical operations.
- Act as a key point of contact for external agencies and stakeholders during joint operational efforts.
- Participate in the planning and execution of training exercises to enhance team readiness and response capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tactical operations or command post management, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant certifications in tactical operations or emergency management are preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams effectively in high-stress environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate operational strategies clearly.
- Proficient in using command post technology and software, along with advanced data analysis skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of emergency management principles and incident command systems.
- Ability to make quick decisions and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
