Job Brief

As a Clothing Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating innovative clothing and accessory designs that align with current fashion trends. You will utilize your creativity and technical skills to produce original designs, modify existing styles, and ensure that the final products meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion design, excellent knowledge of textiles, and experience with design software. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop clothing and accessories collections, ensuring alignment with fashion trends and market demands.
  • Create original sketches and technical drawings using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.
  • Select appropriate fabrics, textiles, and materials for design prototypes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and production teams to ensure designs are accurately produced.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and guidelines for garment construction.
  • Present designs and concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final products.
  • Maintain a portfolio of your work showcasing your design capabilities and style evolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in clothing design or a similar role within the fashion industry.
  • Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and CAD programs.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, textile properties, and fashion history.
  • Excellent sketching and illustration skills, both hand-drawn and digital.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and with external partners.
  • An up-to-date portfolio showcasing your design work and creative process.
