Job Brief
The City Letter Carrier plays a vital role in the United States Postal Service (USPS) by sorting and delivering mail along established routes. Responsibilities
- Sort and organize incoming mail and packages for efficient delivery.
- Deliver mail and packages along predetermined routes, utilizing a vehicle or walking.
- Interact courteously with customers and address any inquiries or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and ensure proper handling of mail.
- Conduct routine inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Follow all USPS policies and procedures regarding mail delivery and customer service.
- Adapt to changing weather conditions and terrain while completing deliveries.
- Assist with training new staff members and support team operations as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in postal service or delivery preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, up to 70 lbs, as required.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with local geography and neighborhoods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
