Job Brief

The Child Welfare Director is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities within social service programs and community outreach organizations. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance child welfare programs and community outreach efforts.
  • Oversee budgeting, funding allocations, and resource management for social service initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce policies regarding participant eligibility, program requirements, and service delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor social workers, counselors, and probation officers to ensure high-quality service provision.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and government agencies to promote child welfare initiatives.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on data-driven assessments.
  • Advocate for policies and practices that support the welfare of children and families at local and state levels.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing child welfare services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in child welfare or social services, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of child welfare laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and complex program operations effectively.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in Child Welfare or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in program evaluation and assessment.
