Job Brief
As a Charter Coach Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating buses or motor coaches, providing exceptional transportation services for various routes, charters, and private engagements. This role requires a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and a commitment to passenger safety and satisfaction. Strong communication skills, excellent driving abilities, and a customer-focused approach are essential to ensure a positive travel experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Operate charter buses and motor coaches for various routes and private events, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and deplaning, as well as handling luggage and other personal belongings.
- Collect fares or tickets from passengers, maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and resolving any issues that arise during the trip.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring a comfortable environment for passengers.
- Follow scheduled routes and communicate any delays or changes to passengers in a timely manner.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating buses.
- Proven experience as a bus driver or in a similar role within the transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with passengers and staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of buses and motor coaches is a plus.
